Mentorship is something that I believe is so important, especially in your faith journey. A mentor is something I so badly wish I would’ve had in high school and my early college years. My parents and friends were always there for me to talk to, but I desired someone who could talk to me from an unbiased point of view with a solid Christian foundation. I needed someone to listen to me blab on about the boy I had a crush on or listen to me complain about not being in the dance routine I wanted to be in. My 14-year-old self needed someone to say “Uh, no. This is not what matters in life. Cut it out! Is this what is going to help you disciple or further the kingdom of God? Nope! Stop worrying about whether that boy likes you and stop worrying about getting what you want during practice. Be more concerned with what really matters!” I needed tough love. But in a loving, gentle, and caring way. I didn’t have the nerve to ask someone wiser than myself to help me. Not only that, but I honestly didn’t really know something like mentorship was even a thing. So, don’t be like me!
If you are looking for someone to be present in your life to give you encouragement, wisdom, and to lift you up in all seasons, feel free to reach out! It doesn’t matter what age you are or what season of life you are in. If you just simply need someone to listen, I would absolutely LOVE to be that person for you.
