HELLO!
I’m Carly and I’ve created this sweet space because I believe that God’s purpose for my little self is to be a light to the world and pour into as many people as I can. I’m a girl who thrives off of lots of coffee, sunshine, and the color pink! Growing up in Texas, I am a natural southern girl who absolutely loves a day of church, fried chicken, and sitting around laughing with my family.
So what is my purpose in writing a blog? Well, for the past two years I went to a large university in Texas. During my time there, I was on the dance team, a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority for a while, and I started a ministry for college women called Delight. It was all so much fun and I was never bored, that’s for sure! At the end of my sophomore year, I was informed that anyone involved in my major, Speech Pathology, had to move to the other campus of my university. As passionate as I am about my future career, I was pretty bummed that I had to leave my friends and organizations behind and figure out life in a new city. The unknowns were scary, but after my first semester there it’s safe to say that I absolutely love where God has so intentionally placed me in this season of life. Along with the new excitement that comes with a new chapter of life, I have also experienced a bit of boredom and lack of an outlet. I used to be constantly busy and I have never gone a year of life without dancing. With that being said, I have felt God calling me to find another way to spread His light, love, and joy to those around me in the biggest way I know how. I prayed for a few months about whether He wanted me to write, or stay focused on intimate ministry within bible studies. After some time of praying for God to give me the courage to jump into what He wanted me to do, I heard an answer that was too clear to ignore. So here I am!
My dream for carlykay.com is to embody a creative little space of sharing about Jesus, good reads, life hacks, trendy fashion, recipes, and much more! I hope that eventually, this tiny space of the internet becomes a community for even just a few of us to share our ideas, creativity, and hearts for God. Whether you came across my blog from a Pinterest recipe, an Instagram picture, or for an interest in a bible study, I hope that you feel inspired and encouraged after reading! Y’all will more than likely get to know my personality fairly quickly through my love for bible readings, soft colors, preppy styles, cute coffee shops, Target, the beach, and lots of Fixer Upper! I cannot wait for all of you to not only get to know me but more importantly, for me to get to know y’all’s hearts!
